Almost made the banner ads optional already! Please Read
As you may have noticed you all now have banner ads on your blogs. However, as the last post said we are trying to make the ads optional but the issue is that it will take several days to make, most likely, but it may be less than when i talk to my plugin designer later tonight.
Well great news, even tho I’m basically an amature at PHP plugin design for choseit I have actually managed to use an old plugin and develop it to make it an optional banner advertisement plugin. The issue is that it is linked to the google ad system which is currently disallowed by google. Therefore what ill be doing is removing the ads later tonight at the top of your blogs and have my plugin designer start crafting the plugin to work independently of the google ad system so that those who want to be ad free, can be ad free.
We’re not sure if we will be running a price on removing the ads (something like $0.10 a month) or making it free. What i do know however is that I’m going to bring back the monthly competitions with the usual 3 step system. The difference is that instead of completing the first step and getting an increased blog space it will instead be the removal of the banner ads (if its decided not to be free) and the second step completion will be an increase in blogging size and as per usual completing all three steps and then being picked at random will get you your own domain name hosted by choseit for free!
This is how the banner ad system will work:
You will be able to choose which pages they will not be displayed on:
home page
static pages
post pages
category pages
archive pages
You will be able to choose how many times they are shown:
Number of Ads Per Post: 1 to 3
Number of Ads to Show: 1 to 3
And hopefully (later on as an update)
You will even be able to decide which type of ads your blog will show from:
Flash banner ads
Static banner ads
Mixed banner ads
Please do say what you think of this idea it will help choseit greatly!

I’m not getting the e-mails; I haven’t seen one for a long time now. And yes, I’m checking my spam folder.
I just checked the e-mail account associated with my blog….nothing. ??? As a matter of fact, I’ve received no e-mails since the activation e-mail.
The way you’ve outlined the ads situation above seems entirely reasonable! If there’s going to be ads on a blog, it seems like the hosting company ought to be able to get in on that action a little, LOL! Is there any likelihood that a small block of text ads would be a possibility? For carefully colour-coded blogs, sometimes those graphic ads are really….gross.
Thats a good idea selfreliance, just making a new post on the recent ad updates as well as the apparent email issue. Text ads would be a great idea
I look forward to testing out all the new changes. I am a “Newbie” at Blogging.
